At SUPSI – DTI, ISTePS (Institute of Systems and Technologies for Sustainable Production) employs researchers and engineers with a wide range of expertise for the transfer and application of technology in industrial sector. The Institute participates in a network of national and international centres for supporting SMEs. Key research areas are: Automation and Control, Mechatronic, Industrial Technologies for Additive Manufacturing, Reconfigurable Robotics, Artificial Vision Systems, Data Modeling, Transformation and Flow Management, Production scheduling, Lifecycle management and optimization, Simulation.

Professor of Industrial Robotics. She is the Head of the Automation, Robotics and Machines ARM LAB with SUPSI-DTI-ISTePS. She got a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Technologies and Production Systems at Politecnico Milan, Post-doctorate in interoperability for adaptive factories at UBath, UK. She was responsible for the research on robotic cell design and configuration with Italian Research center for Aerospace (CIRA) in liaison with Boeing commercial aircraft division. Her research focuses on machines and robotic systems design and control. She is currently RTD Coordinator of several European and National Projects. Author of 2 books and more than 60 journal papers on system (re)configuration, robotics and control systems. She is member since 2013 of EU AM Platform, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Technical Advisory Group of MTConnect® Institute and STEP-NC Standardization Community ISO/TC 184/SC 1/WG 7 & WG 3/T 24.She is associate member of CIRP, the International Academy for Production Engineering since 2018.
