OPI Photonics, an nLIGHT subsidiary, produces devices for laser beam shaping and delivery (kilowatt laser beam switches, couplers , collimators and high power optics) and high-power BLUE laser diode. Given its flexible approach and the vocation for R&D, besides for off-the-shelf products, OPI can work with customers in special projects, from the identification of possible solutions to their laser manufacturing-related problems, to production of ad-hoc devices. www.opiphotonics.com
Company activities in the project
OPI will support partners in product design by micro assembly, define Products family for Round Robin exercise, certify and qualify products output by Mesomorph.
Dr. Andrea Braglia holds a MSc degree in Physic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a PhD in Electronics from Politecnico di Torino. His working experience began in the R&D group of Datalogic Automation Laser Marking, where he collaborated at the development of a new type of solid-state laser for marking applications. Later, he moved to Politecnico di Torino, where he worked at the development of high power fiber lasers and laser diodes in cooperation with some of the main industrial players in the field. In 2012 he co-founded OPI Photonics, which he leaded as CEO till July 2020 when nLIGHT.inc acquired OPI. Andrea Braglia is currently Director of Beam Delivery Products in nLIGHT (responsible for development and production of high power couplers, switches, collimators and visible laser diodes) continuing the leadership of OPI Photonics team in Torino.
